Bacground:
Jeongsik Sin holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea and a MS degree in Production Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Taejon, Korea. From 1991 to 1996, he worked at Samsung Electronics, where he developed motion control, machine vision, and robotic automation systems for assembly, welding and other manufacturing processes.
In 2002, he received a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, focusing on microassembly and active surface microdevices for manipulation. Upon graduation, he joined the Center for Automation Technologies as a Research Associate.
He is presently a Faculty Associate with the Automation & Robotics Research Institute at The University of Texas at Arlington. His work deals with the design, analysis, fabrication and packaging of microsystems from concept to prototype. Dr. Sin has been involved in the development of integrated microfluidic systems, and has made contributions to the state-of-the-art of micro pumps, valves, and spectrometers.
