To stimulate economic growth through a combination of leading edge research and comprehensive manufacturing extension services.

Location
ARRI is a unit of the College of Engineering, located in a 48,000 ft² modern facility in Fort Worth, about 10 miles from the main UT Arlington campus.

People
A team of around one hundred faculty, full time staff and graduate students work side by side in an interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial environment with close ties to industry.

Research
The focus is on the design and manufacturing of smart micromachines and their application to real world challenges in defense, medicine, and humanoid robots.

Extension
The primary focus of the Small Business Assistance Centers is on quality, business and information management systems as well as process integration and improvement.

The Bennington Microtechnology Center (BMC) is a strategic partner:
BMC is a small lot and pilot production facility specializing in the packaging and testing of microsystems.

These ARRI Centers receive partial funding from the National Institute for Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the Small Business Administration and the Defense Logistics Agency, respectively. Their primary mission is to enhance the competitive position of the state's manufacturing sector by working with a wide range of industrial firms, delivering training, providing technical assistance and implementing best business practices.
